Our Site is Being Updated

We hope you are having a swell summer, subscribers, and the occasional traffic and parking hassles aren't getting in your way.

Our website is being updated and improved this week and next. We wanted to let you know this may cause obstacles to accessing and retrieving old issues.

As soon as we have all the snags worked out, we will be publishing the first installment of a new series: EXIT 89's Data Dive. It will use data and infographics to help us look at Orleans in some new ways. A Mighty Updates issue will come a bit later, after summer's over. Then, as usual, we will turn our attention to Special Town Meeting.

EXIT 89 is an independent publication. Our mission is to help Orleans voters make sense of town issues by providing a clear and impartial overview of the latest developments. We want to help fill the information gap, reduce the "mystery" of Town Meeting, and promote vibrant civic engagement.

Our hyperlocal digest is researched and written by journalists Martha Sherrill and Emily Miller. Elaine Baird and Lynn Bruneau are the founding advisors. Additional research and writing is provided by Steve Gass. We are all residents of Orleans. Editing, infographics and tech support are provided by Kazmira Nedeau of Sea Howl Bookshop.

Our digest is 100 percent free — and we aim to keep it that way. But your donations keep us going. As soon as our site is updated, you can donate securely online by clicking here.
